Katherine lives and work in the Highlands of Scotland where she is fascinated by, and grateful for, the seemingly endless visual inspiration she receives everyday on her doorstep.
"I took an interest in art from a very young age. Friends and family tell me my school textbooks were empty, but the covers were beautifully painted and decorated. I then found myself spending more time in art galleries than in the lecture theatre.Nursing, marriage and motherhood however did nothing to lessen my enthusiasm and, in 2014, I took a leap of faith and concentrated on my painting full-time. Now I am enjoying the daily challenge of devoting my time to a profession I love.
I try not to be afraid of failure and approach each work I undertake with vigour and passion, not restricting myself to one medium."
