Ayrshire born, Will P Aitken studied Art and Design at Cumbria College of Art and Design, Duncan of Jordanstone and Glasgow School of Art; BA Hons MA. He worked in Scotland and abroad in product, graphic, exhibition, TV, landscape, interior design and project management.
Locally, Will was involved with the Sculpture Trail that runs through the tiny Easter Ross villages of Balintore, Hilton and Shadwick. On the north of the Moray Firth, these settlements date back to Pictish times. Sculptures on the trail include the ‘Mermaid of the North’, a feature of the North Coast 500 route, and the Hilton of Cadbol Pictish Stone, which was carved around AD800, in what was then the heartland of the Picts.
Will returned to painting in the late 1990s and has exhibited and sold with us both in Golspie and Dingwall. We are delighted to be selling new work by him now, including a couple featuring Moray and Cromarty Firth skies, and that he is also working towards a solo exhibition with Alchemist Gallery.
