It's the weekend, and we have somewhere for you to go!

Friday, 17 April 2020

Emer Beattie is throwing open the doors to her home today at 3pm, to launch her first solo exhibition, and you're invited to join her online. "My friend asked me yesterday if we have to dress up for the occasion and the answer is – why wouldn’t you, it’s an opening! ”, says Emer.

Let's face it, the weekends are a bit dull right now, so why not dress up, grab a glass, and join @Emer Beattie Art live on Facebook today at 3pm, or anytime over the weekend, @Alchemist Gallery, for a blast of bright and glowing watercolour paintings.

Emer Beattie is an Irish artist living in the Scottish Highlands with an uplifting range of artwork, specialising in vibrant watercolour paintings. Her first solo exhibition, ‘Highland Seasons’ was due to launch this week at the Alchemist Gallery, Dingwall, but plans have had to change due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, Emer is determined this won’t stop her showcasing her work. “My mother was going to come over from Ireland for this,” said Emer, “so I wanted to have some way she could join in and make a party of it despite the circumstances!"
Emer’s husband, Bryan Beattie, four teenage children and mother-in-law, who are all in self-isolation with her at the family home near Munlochy, in the Scottish Highlands, are being roped in to help, and they'd love you to join them virtually.

All the work will be available to view from launch, on our website: http://https://alchemistgallery.co.uk/whats-on/Emer-Beattie-Highland-Seasons-17-April-2020-12-May-2020

Emer intends to continue the party daily at 11am on Facebook Live for the following three weeks. She said, “Each weekday I’ll go live online for 3 minutes to give the background and inspiration to one of the pictures – hopefully folk can join in from lockdown when they’re having a coffee break and it’ll help add a bit of craic and colour to their day!”.
