My exhibition, “Coastal Concepts” focuses on the beautiful Moray Firth Coast in Scotland. These paintings began with visits to local towns and villages, where I collected sketches, photographs and memories. Back at my studio, paper collage on canvas formed the basis for my work, then many layers of acrylic paint, ink and pastel were added to complete the painting. You are invited to look closely to reveal all the additions to the canvas - you might find a crossword, parts of a gelli-print, a photograph or maybe the odd seagull.
