In addition to textile art, a wider and ever-changing selection of textiles is always available in the shop and gallery including temptingly tactile homewares, clothing, and accessories.
We are stockists of Quernstone, Bill Baber & Mars knitwear. Made in Orkney, Edinburgh & Wigston respectively, these Sottish & British producers work only in natural fibres; lambswool, merino, silk, cotton, and linen, making their highly wearable designs both sustainable and comfortable. The wide range of knitwear colours and styles are complemented with locally woven scarves and wraps, Scottish and British made cowls in soft wool or velvet, and of course Sarah Whealing's Shetland wool hats. Our range includes beautifully handknitted socks; those made by Mrs MacGregor are sold to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer.
A small selection of one-off dresses and separates, sustainably made from recycled silk saris and pure cotton complete our clothing offer.
We also have a selection of collectable back copies of 'Selvedge' - a beautiful British magazine featuring all things textile... in the words of the magazine's founder: "I launched Selvedge in 2004 to celebrate our cerebral and sensual addiction to cloth while promoting skillfully made and carefully considered textiles."
