Pennan Windaes 1 - triptych by Sandy Gracie

Pennan Windaes 1 - triptych
Original pen and acrylic. Framed size 86cm W x 30cm H (overall size of three paintings in single frame). White painted wood frame, grey mount, glazed.

Small windows, traditionally set deep in north facing gables, protecting homes as much as possible from the ravages of the sea. As fisher folk the former inhabitants of Pennan, knew the wild nature of that North Sea only too well. In spite of the hardships, these wide cills have always allowed the home owners to display small treasures.

Pennan is perhaps one of the north east's most well-known fishing villages, since featuring as a main location in the film 'Local Hero'.
