Gamrie Bay by Sandy Gracie
Original pen and acrylic. Framed size 83cm W x 58cm H. White painted wood frame.
Gamrie is an area of Aberdeenshire in the north east of Scotland, encompassing spectacular country landscapes and the picturesque coastal villages of Gardenstown and Crovie.
In the foreground of this work is the ruin of St John’s church and its small graveyard. Remote and, set on the edge of a tall cliff, the site’s long history is thought to date back to 1004, and include several medieval re-builds and the skulls of defeated Danes.
