Jill Mackenzie

As a mixed media artist living in the North East of Scotland near Keith, I have always had an interest in drawing, painting, ceramics and textiles. I have attended many courses and when I retired from a career in catering management, I joined the Fine Art Degree Course at the University of Highlands and Islands in Moray. During this time I also set up my own studio, where I love to experiment and research new ideas. My artistic passion for coastal and countryside scenes, inspires me to create works that people will enjoy and relate to, using expanding mixed media techniques. I love to add colour and texture to the image, yet still keep the essence of the local area. My mixed media paintings have something to say, which I like to express with paper collage, paint and humour.
