The smell of peas and the sound of bees humming: the nasturtium is a plant of unruly growth and beauty, always emerging or retreating, captured fleetingly in full and glorious trumpeted colour, in tightly furled buds, and in fast-formed three part seeds. Their flat round leaves, like plates spinning on a stick, catching light and raindrops, both sheltering and showing off the flowers. And those stems, so easily snapped, that curl around, pulling the plant up towards the light.
