Crisp, refreshing, frozen and still was the Firth when I explored the beach at Dingwall during the snow, which laid at the end of November 2021. The chill cut through you like a knife and fingers became numb in a matter of minutes. It was worth it though! The emptiness of the frozen shoreline gave me time to take in this spectacular view in peace. The snow dressed the rocks, sand, hills and Ben Wyvis in the distance – unifying them in silent grandeur. The blue and white contrasted against the rocky earth tones so beautifully and the sea lay still and gentle. Time was frozen as well as the landscape and the only movement in this amazing view before me were the birds. Incredibly cold but incredibly charming, this snowy scene was a moment of frozen tranquility.
